Rachel:

Your writing is refreshing, unabridged and all you in being. You are a rock star at this element of your work...as others. You will be my model and I venture out into the world of blogging.

Keep the faith and the flair!

I am so envious, Rachel! My parents had a house on the Chain of Lakes in Central Wisconsin for many years until the rise in property taxes forced them to sell. It's still my "calming place" that I go to in my mind when I need a break. I can imagine myself sitting on the deck on an early autumn morning, wrapped in a blanket, watching the squirrels gathering their winter meals and the geese flying overhead towards their southern homes.

Unlike you, though, the most physical thing I did was turn the pages of my book and drive to the local bakery for my favorite pastry :-)

So true, Rachel! I think the Virtual Assistance industry will come into its own now that the economy is getting tighter and small companies can't afford to hire new employees. VAs can be an economical alternative while providing their clients with innovative "outside the box" thinking. Great post!

You're so right, Rachel. It's too easy to get focused on just maintaining (status quo) when external forces start to put the pressure on. Yet, truth be told, there is always something to excuse us from working (and marketing) to our potential as business owners. Granted, a recession is a BIG something, but if you were taking a proactive approach all along, the recession shouldn't hurt as badly. If you weren't, there's no time like today to diversify, seek out opportunities, and network, network, network so prospects still see that they need people like VAs and consultants as much as ever now.
